Ingredients

For the Salad

  • 2 cups mixed sprouts (moong sprouts, moth sprouts, chickpea sprouts)
  • 1 medium cucumber, diced
  • 1 medium tomato, deseeded and chopped
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 tablespoons sweet corn (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons pomegranate seeds
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh coriander
  • 1 tablespoon chopped mint leaves

Dressing

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon black salt
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon chaat masala (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

Garnish

  • Fresh coriander
  • Mint leaves
  • Lemon wedges
  • Roasted pumpkin or sunflower seeds (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Sprouts

Wash the sprouts thoroughly.

For a crunchy salad, use fresh raw sprouts.

For a softer texture, steam them for 3–5 minutes and allow them to cool completely.

Step 2: Prepare the Vegetables

Dice the cucumber, tomato, onion, carrot, and bell pepper into small, even pieces.

Finely chop the coriander and mint.

Step 3: Make the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together:

  • Lemon juice
  • Olive oil
  • Roasted cumin powder
  • Black pepper
  • Black salt
  • Regular salt
  • Chaat masala
  • Honey (if using)

Mix until well combined.

Step 4: Assemble

In a large salad bowl combine:

  • Sprouts
  • Chopped vegetables
  • Sweet corn
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Coriander
  • Mint

Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently until everything is evenly coated.

Step 5: Serve

Garnish with extra coriander, mint, roasted seeds, and lemon wedges.

Serve immediately for the freshest flavor.
